BIOGRAPHY
I have an M.S. in Geology, a B.A. in Earth Science, and minor in Geology. My M.S. thesis work involved mapping the geology along a 40 km stretch of the Pinto Mountain fault (near Joshua Tree National Park) to document its offsets. I am the founder and owner of Geological Information Services, which produces interpretive geologic material for the public. Much of my professional geologic work experience has been in engineering geology. My assignments have spanned a variety of assignments that include soil laboratory work, fill control, geologic mapping, and percolation testing. I have also taught physical geology at Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno, Nevada and physical geography at Western Nevada Community College in Carson City, Nevada. As time allows, I do independent research focusing mostly on geologic and tectonic problems of the Mojave Desert. The results of my research are published in peer-reviewed journals, field trip guidebooks, and presented at meetings of the Geological Society of America and American Geophysical Union. At present, one research paper and book on the geology of the Lassen Peak region are in progress. GEOLOGIC INTERESTS RESEARCH INTERESTS |
